I can only ever be as good as my team. And together we are great.
Lidija B. Nurse

A team of highly qualified and committed care providers look after our patients round the clock and help patients and their families to cope with the changes in their lives and to achieve the best possible quality of life. We have the latest technology to help us in this task.

Care is an integral part of our interdisciplinary and interprofessional treatment team. To ensure that the treatment goals are achieved in the rehabilitation process, we employ many specialists in the rehabilitation care sector. This includes three areas:

  • Therapeutic care
  • Basic and treatment-related care
  • Support in dealing with disability

In order to be able to consistently provide this range of services under the best possible conditions, we place great importance on specialist/practical education, training and continuing education for care providers that incorporates the latest nursing research.

Specialist fields in nursing care

As a clinic that focuses primarily on rehabilitation after an illness or accident, a number of our key areas and specialised fields also require special skills in terms of nursing care.

For this we need team players with special experience and expertise – and we offer not only exciting challenges, but also the opportunity to further develop your own skills.

In the IMC area we provide early rehabilitation services for severely affected patients, who are cared for round the clock by our team of doctors, therapists and nursing staff. We have twelve beds for early rehabilitation and an isolation ward with six additional beds.

Early rehabilitation focuses on the rehabilitative care of patients who have suffered serious multiple injuries. Most cases involve a traumatic brain injury accompanied by additional injuries (e.g. multiple bone fractures, burns) or personality changes. We offer a wide range of treatment methods for complex injury patterns.

In addition to the latest medical technology, the transparent design of our rooms also ensures that staff can respond immediately when a patient needs assistance. Early rehabilitation covers all clinical specialties (neurological rehabilitation, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, burns) at an early stage requiring close monitoring.

In this field, as a graduate nurse you must also have an ICU postgraduate qualification, have completed further training in IMC or be in a position to further your training in this area.

Our DIWU team specialises in the treatment of wounds. Our qualified wound managers work according to the principles of state-of-the-art wound dressing treatment:

  • phase-specific
  • individual
  • problem-oriented

The team collaborates very closely with the doctors. Regular short visits during wound treatment are standard.

If you would like to work as a care provider in this area, you must have completed additional training as a wound specialist.

Volunteer staff provide part-time, non-paid services that benefit our patients.

IDEM (‘im Dienste eines Mitmenschen’ – in the service of fellow human beings) refers to the motivated men and women who volunteer at the Bellikon Rehabilitation Clinic and are involved in a wide variety of activities, such as:

  • regular visits to patients
  • conversation
  • games and entertainment
  • accompanying patients on a walk with or without a wheelchair
  • accompanying patients to their ward on the day they are admitted

At the Bellikon Rehabilitation Clinic we also treat patients whose various symptoms cause only slight motor impairment, but who suffer from severe memory disorders (amnesia) or speech disorders (aphasia) in conjunction with disorientation due to brain dysfunction. The clinic offers these patients a secure unit (1st and 2nd storey) in which they can move about freely or, thanks to a new safety system, within a defined space inside the clinic.

In this area, nursing care work is also associated with special challenges.
