The Neurological Rehabilitation department is the leading competence centre for the rehabilitation of people with traumatic brain injuries. Professional rehabilitation services are also provided for stroke patients.
The treatment results are excellent, because intensive therapy is meticulously coordinated by an interdisciplinary team in order to achieve defined goals. (see also Rehabilitation Concept). This increases the patients' chances of reintegration in their professions and optimises their quality of life over the long term. It also shortens the required duration of treatment. Patients are transferred from acute hospitals as early as possible for acute rehabilitation, so that appropriate therapy can be started quickly. At the beginning, patients may experience dysfunction in motor coordination, communication and performance. Therapy is tailored specifically to the needs of the individual patients, taking these problems into account. The generalisation of the newly trained skills to meet the challenges of daily life after discharge from the clinic is particularly important. Prof. Dr. med.
