Orthopaedic and Hand Rehabilitation

Orthopaedic and hand rehabilitation includes rehabilitation after injuries to the musculo-skeletal system and after amputations, as well as early rehabilitation of patients with multiple injuries. Top priority is given to therapy tailored specifically to each individual patient with weekly progress monitoring.

The Orthotics and Prosthetics Department produces an extensive range of assistive devices such as arm and leg prostheses, support devices and walking aids. In the amputee training centre, we teach patients how to use and care for their artificial limbs. At the walking centre, patients with leg injuries learn to master obstacles in daily living.

The specialists in the Orthopaedic Shoe Technology Department manufacture custom orthopaedic shoes, orthotics and prostheses for the lower extremities as well as custom inner soles. They also adapt regular and special shoes to the patients' particular needs.

The usual X-ray images are replaced by the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Digital X-ray images have the advantage that the right image can be immediately retrieved from among millions of images at every workstation.

The center for diagnostic and air dressing treatment takes competent care of all types of soft tissue wounds and injuries.

Hand Rehabilitation
Hand injuries make the performance of daily activities more difficult and often make it impossible for people to practice their chosen professions. With occupational therapy and customised aids developed and adapted specifically for their individual needs, our patients learn, for example, how to grip and hold objects, to turn pages – in short, they learn how to get their hands functioning properly again.
