A specialist core team is available for the ongoing rehabilitation of burn patients, which includes nurses specialised in the treatment of burn wounds as well as physiotherapists. Close co-operation with further specialists in the clinic, such as orthopaedic technicians (who produce silicon masks, Jobst garments, etc.) is very important. Sometimes complex pain therapy, special assistive devices or psychosomatic treatment is also required to facilitate optimal achievement of the final treatment goal of professional and/or social reintegration of patients who are severely disabled.

Therapeutic measures focus on joint mobilisation, oedema management, scar treatment, pain reduction, desensitisation, building muscle strength, determination of requirements for assistive devices, training in fine motor and graphomotor co-ordination, improvement in coordination and wound care.
