The purchase and use of a C-Leg must make sense for the patient, the manufacturer and the cost bearer. This evaluation is carried out in cooperation with the Balgrist University Clinic on two separate days. On the first day, a medical examination and gait analysis as well as an orthopaedic examination with a LASAR device are performed. Then the patient walks an indoor or outdoor circuit and is recorded on video while doing so. Finally, the preliminary results are discussed and further procedures determined.
If appropriate, the patient will be equipped with a C-Leg by the orthopaedic technician. On the second day of assessment, another gait analysis will be performed, this time with the C-Leg. The patient will walk the circuit once again and the orthopaedic situation will be re-evaluated.
As part of the final conference with the patient, the indication for a C-Leg will be accepted or rejected, or in cases that are still unclear, further procedures will be determined.
