One of our core activities is the rehabilitation of amputees after an accident or illness. Our team of 6 orthopaedic technicians (department head: Mr. Peter Berhalter) supplies patients with prostheses for the upper and lower extremities at various levels of amputation, including partial amputations. A variety of mechanical as well as cosmetic prostheses are supplied; the latter are manufactured in our own silicon laboratory.

For patients with above-knee amputations, electronically controlled knee joints (C-Leg, Rheo Knee, etc.) are also fitted in accordance with appropriate indications. The provision of prostheses and training in their use is carried out by specialist physicians and nurses, wound care specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and the team at the amputee walking centre.
