Psychosomatic Therapy

An accident can bring about many changes in a person's life. The pain, the physical limitations and the often uncertain future can have an adverse impact on a person's psychological and emotional well-being. Inner strength and optimism are required to tackle rehabilitation and the path to the future in order to return to a fulfilled, active life despite pain and suffering.

A major life-threatening experience during an accident often has a lasting impact on a person's emotional stability, and can cause symptoms such as depression and anxiety, for example, which require specialist psychotherapeutic treatment. Therapy sessions with specialists (psychiatrists/psychologists) can help to relieve these symptoms and provide support and stability while the patient is working through the consequences of the accident.

Music and art therapy also enable patients to deal constructively with their emotions. They can often express their feelings in music and painting when words fail them. These resource-based, communicative and expressive forms of therapy are important complements to the other therapies.
