In the observation unit, we care for patients whose brain injuries are so severe that their vital respiratory and cardiovascular functions are unstable and/or their mental functions and consciousness are severely impaired. These functions are monitored with special medical devices. In addition, specialist nurses provide these patients with personal care twenty-four hours around the clock. In this phase, rehabilitative treatment is particularly intensive, focussing on early mobilisation and the initiation of movement as well as fundamental aspects of activities for daily living.
